Jaime Harrison

Jaime R. Harrison (40 in 2016) is a lawyer, lobbyist and political strategist who chairs the South Carolina Democratic Party. In Dcember 2016 he announced his candidacy for Democratic National Committee chair. [1]

Harrison went to high school in Orangeburg, South Carolina and received a bachelor’s degree from Yale and his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.

He was a lobbyist in John Podesta's Podesta Group from 2008 until 2016. [1]He was a policy advisor for Jim Clyburn from 2003 to 2005. [1]He was also director for the House Democratic Caucus and Floor Director and Counsel for Clyburn when he was Majority Whip. [1] Jim Clyburn is one of his mentors. [1]

Jaime is marries to Marie Boyd, a law professor at the University of South Carolina. [3]They live in Columbia, South Carolina and have a son, William. [1]
