Indiana Voter Registration Project is a voter registration organization operating across several counties in Indiana as part of the group Patriot Majority USA.
They are being investigated for voter registration fraud after registrations with partially falsified information were found and some people contacted repprtedly said they had not signed up to register with the group.
An Indianapolis Star investigation was unable to uncover who was funding the group or heading it.
A spokesperson for the group suggested the investigation is politically motivated, that the group has cooperated with officials and that the investigation is impeding the voter registrstion activities of the group.
The Indiana State Police investigation has so far reported 10 fraudulent voter registrations out of 28,000 submitted by the group.
The group is ostensibly non-partisan although its has ties to Democrat political campaigns.
The group has no website and is not registered with the Indiana secretary of state's office.
An IndyStar reporter spoke to an official with the group named Karim Aziz who is from New Jersey but he refused to provide information about who runs the organization.
Christy Setzer is the group's spokesperson.
She has refused to answer questions about the group.
The Indy Star reported that her public relations firm's website says she has worked as a Democratic strategist for the presidential campaigns of Al Gore, Howard Dean and Chris Dodd.
