Icie Hawkins was a resident of Hendersonville, Tennessee. ^[1] She was the granddaughter of Jean Shepard. ^[1]

On December 17, 2016, police responded to the home at home of Benny Birchfield, in Hendersonville, Tennessee where they found Hawkins with multiple stab wounds and rushed to the hospital. She later died from her injuries. ^[1]

Her boyfriend, Travis Sanders died from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. ^[1]
