Houseparty (app)
Houseparty is an app that allows you to livestream to 8 of your friends simultaneously.
The app prides itself on its concept of "spontaneous togetherness."
History and Development
Houseparty was developed by the company Life on Air under the pseudonym Alex Herzick to avoid being associated with the app's predecessor Meerkat (app).
Houseparty launched with no publicity but quickly attracted a following, reaching 1 million users by May of 2016.
How it Works
When a user open the app, the front camera is immediatley turned on and the user is free to join other houseparty cats that are going on with their friends.
When their is an unknown person in the chat, the words stranger danger appear before the user joins in.
