Bacus grew up in Nevada and has been producing music since he was 13-years-old and while he was attending school he played the trombone. His grandpa bought him his first monitors in 2011, a midi and DAW. Bacus first was interested in making hip-hop instrumentals but then was introduced to UKF dubstep mixes. From their he was listening to prominent artists in bass music including Noisia, Flux Pavilion, Nero, Skrillex, and DJ Fresh. Although he enjoyed listening to the mixes, he did no understand fully how they were being created. In 2015, Bacus became serious about music and began to experiment with "electronic" sounds/vibes.
Bacus got his name from a dream he had playing the Cosmic Meadow stage at EDC with the current logo he is using for Hekler today behind him.
He saw that as a sign from the universe that he was brought into this world to create music.
In 2017, he started releasing music under the name HEKLER and has since played festivals such as Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC).
