He Will Not Divide Us
He Will Not Divide Us
He Will Not Divide Us is an Art project initiated by Shia LaBeouf, his art collective, The Campaign Book, and Jaden Smith . The art project was launched on the same day as the Donald Trump presidential inauguration. The art project consists of a camera mounted onto a wall outside of the Museum of the Moving Image that streams 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the next fours years or until Trump's presidency is over. [15]
Shia chants at the top of his lungs "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US" to a Trump supporter attempting to ridicule the crowd.
At various intervals throughout the day, at least in the few days after the launch of the project, the public and bystanders often find an opportunity to speak their political ideologies in front of the camera.
Normally, it is done when Shia isn't around or when the chant has ceased - a person usually draws their phone and shares to the camera either a photo of Trump, or something related to the alt-right.
Other times, they speak their mind.
Some have "Praised Kek" and have also said, "I Will Rape Labeaouf", usually when he is not around.
After a few days of the art project's launch, members of the Cult of Kek and fans of Pepe began to interrupt the chant by bringing attention to Pepe as a way to troll and trigger the groups of people. In one occasion, a believer of Pepe came close to the camera while Shia and the rest of the public chanted and began to talk about the alt-right and confessed his support for Trump as an attempt to ridicule, shame, troll, and cease the protest. Shia subdued the troll by chanting at the top of his lungs, "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US", over and over, until the Trump supporter left. [15]
Late Wednesday night, January 25th, 2017, during the moments during the "He Will Not Divide Us" chant, Shia was arrested for allegedly assaulting someone.
There are different accounts to the incident of what got him arrested.
[13]On the unofficial Twitter of He Will Not Divide Us, there are claims that the arrest occurred because Shia was approached by a man who somehow convinced Shia to be on his live feed coming from his cell phone, and as Shia was in the shot, the man then said, "Hitler Did Nothing Wrong," in which Shia shoved him back and walked away.
