On August 12 Hande Kader's body was found raped and brutally burned in Istanbul, Turkey. She was a transgender rights activist and sex worker. Hande Kader was last seen in a client's car.

In tribute to her activism and in protest against anti-trans violence, the hashtag #HandeKadereSesVer started trending on Twitter. ^[0]
