Hailey Dandurand

Hailey Dandurand

Hailey Kai Dandurand is a resident of Kaimuki, Hawaii. [1] She is the partner of Stephen Brown.

On December 8, 2017, Dandurand and Brown were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the death of Telma Boinville. [1]

Dandurand attended Kapi'olani Community College.

On December 8, 2017, Dandurand and Brown were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the death of Telma Boinville. [1]

Boinville's body was found Thursday, December 7, 2017, in the afternoon downstairs in a house on Oahu's North Shore, where she was a house cleaner for the vacation property. [1]

Police found Boinville's 8-year-old daughter upstairs uninjured and tied up.

[1] Boinville had been beaten up by a baseball bat.

Her credit card was found in Dandurand’s pocket, and both Dandurand and Brown had dried blood on their hands at the time of their arrest.

Dandurand was charged with Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Kidnapping, Burglary in the First Degree, Unauthorized Entry into Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Possession of Confidential Personal Information.

Bail was set at $500,000.[10]

In March 2020, she filed a request to be released from custody.

The court treated the matter as a non-hearing motion and denied the request.[10]

Dandurand returned to court twice in April and another time in August to ask the judge for either supervised release or reduction in bail.

All matters were addressed as a non-hearing motion and the judge once again denied the request.

Dandurand’s financial circumstances, criminal history, and risk to the public were all considered in the decision.[10]

In August 2020, it was reported in the media that Dandurand would not be released early or have her bail reduced.

Her request was denied for a fourth time during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.[9]

Dandurand’s attorney said his client is still innocent until proven guilty, and by being at Oahu Community Correctional Center right now, Dandurand’s life is at risk because of the continuing rise of COVID-19 cases among inmates.

Dandurand’s attorney, Barry Sooalo, said:

“Those that are presently incarcerated, including my client Ms. Dandurand, face an unreasonable risk of imminent death.

That’s not fair for anyone that’s merely accused of wrongdoing.”[10]
