Early Life and Personal
The Potts
She was born and raised in the state of Oklahoma. She lived in the city of Perry. She is married to Mark Potts.
Growing up she had always had an interest in reporting the news.
At the age of 15, she began working in Journalism for the Perry Daily Journal- the newspaper from her hometown. While there, she learn about time-sensitive coverage of stories, handing the wax machine and the printing press. Her early exposure to the word of Journalism got her hooked. She spent many a summer and afternoons writing for the Journal ** often covering sports such as Baseball and Wrestling. She also had her own column: “A Hand for the Working Man”, where she wrote about a portable toilet cleaner, cattle rancher and two garbage collectors.
She is the owner of a pug.
She claims that she can’t parallel park.

She is a graduate of University of Oklahoma where she received her degree in Journalism. While at the university she also wrote for the Oklahoma Daily. She was involved in the OU International Leadership in Media Project where she traveled to Bangladesh and Pakistan to work with multimedia journalists. She is a member and alum of the organization: OU Society of Professional Journalists. And, interned for the
Washington Center for Politics and Journalism.

Since graduating from the University, she has worked for numerous publications, including The Oklahoman to the Houston Chronicle ‘s Washington bureau, where she had the opportunity to show the one-and-only Helen Thomas how to use YouTube. And, the New York Times . ** [undefined]
She is currently a metro staff writer at Los Angeles Times , where she covers breaking news and features in Southern California and beyond. [undefined]
