Gus Dapperton is an American Recording artist and Musician known for his iconic short bowl haircut along with his own distinctive take on Dream pop.

Dapperton is a native of the state of New York where his upbringing mostly occurred upstate in the town of Warwick, New York. His parents are involved in the business sector who are supportive about his life choices. He also has a sister who's a singer.

As a young kid he listened to artists such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, and The Beach Boys. He also paid attention to Fifty Cent and J Dillon. Later on in high school and middle school he was into 60s rock, 1980s nuwave, and hip hop.

In his 8th grade year, he began to develop his interest in music along with the rest of his friends who were into the art of rapping.

That same year a music writing contest at school took place and Dapperton and his friends decided to take part.

Dapperton really wanted to win, and they did.

As an older teenager, he began to develop his own style while also collaborating with numerous artist around the New York City area. After going through a break-up and tearing his ACL, he started taking his music more seriously and began working on songs.

Dapperton began uploading music to his SoundCloud in 2016. He post songs along the way which led to the release of his first batch of songs, Yellow and Such EP.
