Good Guy Greg (GGG) is an advice animal image macro series featuring a photo of a square-jawed man smiling at the camera with a marijuana roach in his mouth.

He is the opposite meme to Scumbag Steve, the captions generally depict the man as the embodiment of kind, generous or empathetic to others.

The best memes of GGG are ones in which extraordinary acts of kindness are appreciated by the recepient (the meme creator) and shared to boards such as 4chan or Reddit so others get a first hand account of the episode of kindness between two people. ^[undefined]

Urban legend has it that the Good Guy Greg meme started on 4chan’s /b/ board but there is no definitive proof.

On April 26th, 2011, the template photo was uploaded to the image remixing site Canvas with the meta-description “This is Good Guy Greg.”
