Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi
Early Life
G.G. was born and raised in Los Angeles after her parents came to the United States from Iran in 1975.
Her father operates a boutique architecture firm in the west coast, while her mother works in the textile and garment industry.
[4] While attending high school, G.G. was known for being an accomplished gymnast and trained for placement on the U.S.
Olympic team, leading to her competing in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
After deciding she no longer wanted to pursue a career as a gymnast, G.G. graduated from high school and went on to pursue a degree at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, receiving her certification in addiction treatment counseling.
GG later went on to help establish a halfway house to help people struggling with alcohol and drug dependency.
Drug/Alcohol Abuse
During an Interview in August 2016, GG revealed that she has been battling drug addiction since the age of 11, "“I was an addict,” she admitted.
“I have 11 years drug free.
I started using drugs when I was 11 and a half, and it kind of progressed very, very fast and I was a full blown addict, Eleven is such a young age to get into such a scary situation."
In the interveiw, GG also admitted that she contemplated suicide: “I was literally sitting on the ground in my living room, one empty bottle of Titos vodka here, a bottle of wine here, and some gin.
And on the other side, I had knives.
It just came down to – you fight or flight in this moment.
‘What do I do in this moment?’ And I downed the rest of that wine and picked up the phone.
I called my friend and said, ‘I need you now.'”[5]
Rheumatoid Arthritis
It was revealed on Shahs of Sunset that GG had Rheumatoid Arthritis, while initially being accused of faking her illness, it was later revealed that she was indeed sick and had to recieve chemotheraphy for her illness.

GG Has been a main character of the Bravo TV series since its inception.
Throughout the seasons, GG has been unemployed, engaged, and has recently co-founded her own company, GG's Extensions.
