GOAT (app)

GOAT (app)

GOAT is billed as a sneaker marketplace app that allows anyone to buy and sell sneakers. It is available for iOS and Android.

In August of 2016, GOAT raised $5 Million in initial funding.

The team behind GOAT originally worked on an app called GrubWithUs, that would allow users to eat with strangers.

After the app didn't take off, GrubWithUs pivoted to GOAT, a sneaker marketplace.

The GOAT app was officially launched in 2015.

On August 29, 2016, GOAT received $5 million dollars in funding from a Series A round; Matrix Partners was the lead investor.[1]

On February 7, 2017, they received $25 million in a Series B round, led by Accel Partners, in an effort to expand its marketplace.[1]

On February 8, 2018, they received $60 million in a Series C round, led by Index Ventures.[1]

On February 7, 2019, GOAT Group received $100 million from Foot Locker in a corporate round.[1]

The core concept of this app is focused on a way to exchange sneakers through an eBay-like system with new or used sneakers available to purchase from a plethora of verified sellers.

The marketplace is accessible from the web, iOS, or Android.
