Gerard Grandzol was executive director of Special Counsel’s Philadelphia office.
Personal Life
Education
Grandzol attended Archbishop Wood High School from 1993 - 1997. During his school years, he was on the varsity ice hockey team. He was assistant captain during his senior year. [1]
After high school, Grandzol went on to attend St. Joseph's University from 1998 - 2002, where he received a Bachelor's of business administration. [1]
In college he was involved in the foosball and ultimate frisbee clubs. [1]
Death
On September 7, 2017, Grandzol was fatally shot just after 8:00 p.m. in the 1500 block of Melon Street, where he lived with his family.
The suspects approached him, took his wallet and tried to steal his SUV with his 2-year-old daughter inside, but he wouldn't let them. As a result, the suspects killed him.
Grandzol was shot at least once in the head at point blank range.
He was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects remain at large and are described to be in their early 20s.
