Greene earned his associates degree from Andrew College in 1968, his bachelor's from Georgia Southern University in 1970, and culminating with his Master's from the University of Georgia in 1977. [5]
Career
Greene has been employed in several professions including working as a STAR Teacher farmer, owner of a greenhouse-nursery, Instructor in political science/Western Civilization at Andrew College, and a teacher in Social Studies in the Randolph-Clay School System.
Political Career
Greene was first sworn into the Georgia House of Representatives on January 10th, 1983 as a member of the Democratic Party. He retained his Democratic affiliation for 27 years until 2010 when he switched to become a Republican because it was the predominant affiliation in his district. Greene current term ends January 13th, 2019. [5]

Foxes Cinema, the location where Gerald Greene was shot
On January 26th, Greene was shot in the leg behind Foxes adult cinema in an attempted to rob him of thousands of dollars in relief funds on behalf of the American Red Cross he was delivering. [9]Foxes Cinema is a well known gay hot spot in the area that is frequented mostly by black men. [1]Initially reported as happening behind a convenience store, it was later revealed that the incident happened behind an Adult video store. [4]
Police describe the assailant as being African-American, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and was holding a silver.22-caliber pistol and wearing a gray hoodie. They are investigating the incident. [3]
