Career

Gene started his career in 1998 as a Researcher / Librarian at Baltimore Sun. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as a Researcher / Librarian at Orange County Register.

In 2002 he joined The Seattle Times as a Data Journalist/Research Librarian.

From 2015 and until now, Gene has been a Columnist at The Seattle Times.

In 1987 Gene received a B.A

in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from SUNY Binghamton. He also holds a M.A in

Art History, Criticism and Conservation from University of Delaware and Master of Library and Information Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick. [2]
