Gloucester County School Board Lawsuit
Grim brought suit against his local school board in 2015 for not allowing him to use the boys bathroom.
Grimm alleged that the Gloucester County School Board engaged in sex discrimination in violation of his rights under federal law and the U.S.
Constitution, and asked a lower court to order the school to allow him to use the facilities.
On April 19, 2016, a 2-1 decision marked the first time a federal court has ruled that Title IX, a federal law that prohibits gender discrimination in public schools, protects transgender individuals and their right to use the bathroom that aligns with their identity.
Giving Grimm the right to freely use his high school's restrooms.
Grim's case is now heading to the Supreme Court of the United States.
At the Grammy Award s in February 2017, Laverne Cox gave Grim a shoutout.
