Gail Heriot

Gail Heriot

Gail Heriot is a law professor in San Diego, California at the University of San Diego and is a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Heriot considers herself the conservative dissenter on the commission and is a self-proclaimed "cactus lady."

In May 2016 Heriot spoke against the federal government ruling on transgender bathrooms.

Heriot compared transgendered people to "girls who wish they could be Russian princesses."

Heriot was reprimanded by Democratic Representative Zoe Lofgren.

Heriot has spoken at the CATO Institute in the past about the problems of affirmative action.
