Franco Luis Ferrada Roman is a Chilean man who attempted to commit suicide at the Santiago Metropolitan Zoo in Chile on May 29, 2016.
Suicide Attempt
Roman broke into the lion enclosure, stripped his clothes, and jumped into the lion pit.
Zoo officials attempted to prevent the lions from killing the man first using fire hoses and then with tranquilizer darts.
After they accidentally struck the Roman with a tranquilizer they opted to shoot and kill two of the lions.
