Fintech

Fintech

Fintech is an innovative new sector that is disrupting banking and the financial sector as we know it.

"Fintech" is a synthesis of the words "finance" and "technology" and describes companies and financial products that blend finance with technology to create financial solutions that are more affordable and more in line with consumer demands than the products offered by traditional banking.

A fairly broad term, Fintech describes everything from crypt-currencies such as Bitcoin to alternative budgeting solutions such as level money.

Often, fintech companies use existing banking infrastructure and create products that make financial transactions cheaper and more efficiently; other fintech startups seek to disrupt retail banking by creating entirely new financial products or completely re-conceptualizing old ones.
