FaZe H1ghSky1

FaZe H1ghSky1

FaZe H1ghSky1 (born July 1, 2007) is an American YouTuber, Twitch Streamer, Competitive eSports gamer and full-time Fortnite streamer for the FaZe Clan.[1][2]

He came to the limelight after joining the FaZe Clan on March 23, 2019 and has more than 290K followers on his Twitch account.

Early Life

FaZe H1ghSky1 was born as Patrick on July 1, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.[2]

He is a school student despite straining his time as a professional gamer.

Career

He began playing video games as a kid, and had always wanted to talk to and play with others online.

He got that opportunity via the Twitch streaming platform, where he began regularly streaming his gameplay videos since June 2018, he was only 12 years old. [12]

Despite his age, he quickly earned thousands of followers who loved to see his skilled execution of tricky moves in online games, particularly Epic's Fortnite. [1]

Within a year, he made himself as one of the top players in the game who could go head on with older professional players.

He even became a partnered Twitch streamer who got special promotional opportunities from the company.

[12]

In March 2019, he suddenly made news headlines after fellow 'Fortnite' player TSM Myth, who is Ali "Myth" Kabbani from the gaming group 'Team SoloMid', leaked H1ghSky1's future prospects at the 'FaZe Clan'.

During a stream, TSM Myth asked him about 'FaZe Clan' multiple times, repeating:[1]

"You heard me, how’s FaZe?"

As H1ghSky1 struggled to answer this question because it was not official yet, TSM Myth realized his mistake and attempted to backtrack by saying,

"What I meant was, how’s phasing through builds?"

However, by the time everyone was laughing at the accidental reveal, and despite TSM Myth's attempts, the reveal seemed real considering the fact that 'FaZe Clan' had recently signed another young 'Fortnite' player, 15-year-old Sway, to its team on March 12.

Within a few days of the leak, the news was officially confirmed by both 'FaZe Clan' and H1ghSky1 through their respective Twitter accounts. [12]

Following the announcement, H1ghSky1 became one of the youngest professional 'Fortnite' players and also the youngest member of the 'FaZe Clan'.

[1]

He was congratulated on Twitter by other 'FaZe Clan' members including owners Nordan 'Rain' Shat and Thomas 'Temperrr' Oliveira. [12]

Though he is yet to compete at tournaments for his team, he has already appeared on many 'FaZe Clan' videos, including an interview with FaZe Adapt and a vlog with FaZe Banks and FaZe Adapt in which he gets a fake dragon tattoo.[12]

Personal Life

He still lives with his parents who helped lie about his age so he could pursue his Fortnite dream.

His parents are regularly seen on his Youtube streams due to Youtube's new policy that bans children from streaming without adult supervision.[12]

Under-aged Controversy

The allegations against Patrick started when Tfue sued FaZe Clan over an "oppressive" contract.

Patrick joined FaZe Clan on March 22, 2019, at which point FaZe claims he was 13 years old at the time of joining.

However, according to Upcomer, the player was only 11 at that time and is now 12 years old.

The Upcomer report states that posts by Patrick’s family in 2012 said it was his fifth birthday, while another post from the same year refers to him as being five years old.

These posts would suggest Patrick was a month short of his 12th birthday when he signed with FaZe.

Patrick's sign to FaZe Clan is alleged by the lawsuit to be in violation of California Labor Code section 1700.36[2], which states that

“no talent agency shall accept any application for employment made by or on behalf of any minor”

This was a serious problem for Patrick's parents and FaZe Clan.

Patrick could no longer stream on Twitch until 13 years old and he would be forbidden to take part in Fortnite's competitions.

As such, he’d be unable to produce Fortnite content for FaZe and could have his contract terminated.

Patrick is not playing the Fortnite World Cup Open Qualifiers, which he would be eligible to play if he was 13.

Neither FaZe nor the player have been sharing his qualifier results if he’s playing, and he’s not showing in the leaderboard top 100.

Currently, it is unconfirmed if Patrick is 12 or 13 years old.

Many people and companies suggest Patrick to share his birth certificate to confirm.
