Bronx Fire

Photo of the location in the Bronx where the devastating fire that took the lives of 12 people took place.
On Thursday evening, December 28th, 2017, a fire was started by a three year old
child inside of one of the apartments who played with the burners on the stove.
As the mother of the child rushed to save him from the fire, she exited the apartment, and the fire took over the stairwell and other parts of the apartment building.
Dozens of people became trapped inside of the apartment complex building which allowed everyone to push towards the fire escape railings.
When the Firefighters arrived, as many as 2 dozen people stood by the fire escape attempting to leave the apartment.
According to the roommate of Emmanuel Mensah, he last saw him just before the fire broke out on the third floor of the building.
Allegedly, Mensah helped several people escape the fire.
He was able to safely rescue four people who were trapped in the fire.
Yet, when he went back inside to save a few more lives, he was never seen again.
