On September 8, 2016, Xhelili attacked two Muslim women as they pushed their children in strollers, kicking and trying to rip their veils off their heads as she hurled Islamophobi c insults at them near her home in Brooklyn, New York. ^[1]

Emirjeta repeatedly shouted, "this is the United States, you're not supposed to be different from us", "get the f*&% out of America, you don't belong here." ^[1]

She also attacked their children, pushing one stroller to the ground and rattling the other while two Infant s sat inside. ^[1]

She was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault as a hate crime and reckless endangerment of a child and harassment.

Emirjeta's bail is set at $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash.
