Ed Henson
Ed Henson is the president and owner of St. Lucie Shooting Center, a range and gun shop in Port Saint Lucie. Ed formerly worked for 20 years as an NYPD officer and at the New York City Housing Authority Police.
Ed Hendson worked in the Detecive Bureau for 16 of his 20 years at the NYPD. He retired from the NYPD in 2002 having attained the rank of Detective First Grade. Before joining the NYPD, he worked with retailers as a security supervisor and investigator. [2]
Ed completed an associate's degree in Criminal Justice and Instructor Certification from the Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Training for the State of Florida.
He was an Adjunct Faculty member of the Indian River State College.
Ed was on the Board of Directors as Vice President of the Long Island Shields, Inc for multiple years.
Ed Henson's gun store, St. Lucie Shooting Center sold the firearms legally purchased by Omar Mateen, who used them to commit the Pulse Orlando Shooting (2016). After the shooting the store was shut down by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for investigation. [1]
