Lump graduated from Walter Johnson High School in Maryland. He studied at edX from 2018 to 2020.[15] edX is an American massive open online course (MOOC) provider created by Harvard and MIT. It hosts online university-level courses in a wide range of disciplines to a worldwide student body, including some courses at no charge. It also conducts research into learning based on how people use its platform. edX is a nonprofit organization and runs on the free Open edX open-source software platform. On June 29, 2021 it was announced that edX had been purchased by the educational technology company 2U.

Lemp was employed by Geometric Energy, an R&D and consulting firm focusing on energy systems, aerospace and defense, theory and computing, blockchain and computer security, medical technology, and advanced research projects. He also founded Asymmetric Volatility Services, a cryptocurrency market making company focused on tokens needing dedicated market making for individualized volume, liquidity, and volatility adjustments.

Death

Police shot and killed a man in Potomac Maryland, Thursday while serving a warrant at a house, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Officers were serving a “high risk” warrant for firearms-related offenses at a house in the 12200 block of St. James Road about 4:30 a.m. SWAT officers were entering the house when they encountered the suspect, identified as Duncan Socrates Lemp, 21.
Lemp was shot fatally by an officer assigned to the Special Operations Division - Tactical Unit.
Lemp's family released a statement Thursday night saying they are grieving and plan to investigate his death and hold those responsible accountable.
