Neiman was born in Berkeley then moved to the South Bay before relocated with her family to San Francisco proper when she was 12.
In her teenage years, she began to be a fan of The Postal Service and Massive Attack and later deadmau5, Benny Benassi, and Kaskade. In high school, her favorite subject was math and is a self-taught coder since she was 8-years-old.
Neiman got the name Ducky after stealing a duck from a local zoo when she was 13 and started DJing at that same age.
One of her songs became popular on Myspace while she was still in middle school. During high school, she used her fake-ID to DJ at local clubs in San Francisco as well as was involved in the local scene from promoting to attending raves.
Although she was forced to drop-out of high school, she was accepted into New York University and would complete a BFA in recorded music and a minor in Mathematics. She graduated early in three years when she was 20-years-old.
After graduating college, she moved from New York back to the West Coast on a gut-decision and relocated to Los Angeles. It was over seven months until she was discovered by NEST HQ and would release music under the label. Ducky had a weekly series called "Rave Toolz." She has since gone on the perform at festivals and major events such as HARD Summer and Nocturnal Wonderland.
