Born and raised Aussie, she and her family are of South Sudanese heritage. She grew up in the city of Melbourne and has six siblings. One her siblings is Nikki Perkins, a well-known YouTuber.
Australia's Next Top Model
At the age of 16, she participated in Australia's Next Top Model. Her sister, Nikki, was auditioning so Duckie decided to along with her. While there, during a moment in the auditioning when the participants took a break from the runway, the people in charge, Charlotte and Alex saw her. They had a good feeling about Duckie and asked her if she wanted to audition but she was too young at the time. The experience of attending the audition is what made her want to be a model.
She would be a part of the show the following season where she became the 8th finalist. During this time in the show, she experienced a lot of from Social media as well as body shaming as she had gained weight which she admits it is true. Her experience was the first time that she had learned about social media and the internet. She received a lot of support from her fellow co stars and from the host Charlotte who told her: "This is who you are. Don't let affect you".

On June 26th, 2017, Duckie posted a modeling photo of herself titled, "Ducks after Dark", which at confused many of her followers and other people online.
According to several users, the photo that Duckie shared resembles a barbie doll.
The photo has since gone viral with several tabloids and news publications running the story.
Personal
She enjoys the game of basketball and considers it a part of her life.
She grew up playing the sport and even played for teams.
She had a coach that taught her how to intelligently play the game while she was a player for the team, New Stars.
