Dr. Shafi Ahmed is an award winning British medical surgeon, futurist, innovator, educator, and technology entrepreneur based in London, UK. ^{[5] [4]}He is most well known for live streaming his medical operations using virtual reality. In December 2016, he became the first surgeon to record an operation on Snapchat spectacles. ^{[0] [3]}

Mr. Shafi Ahmed qualified from Kings College Hospital Medical SchoolLondon in 1993, trained in London and obtained his specialist registration in general and colorectal surgery. ^{[1] [4]} He was appointed as a Consultant General, Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Barts and the London NHS trust in 2007. ^[1] He performed research on the genetics of colorectal cancer and obtained his PhD from the University of London. ^{[1] [4]}
