Dr. David Newman

Dr. David Newman is 45 year old former doctor at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York. He was also the director of clinical research in the department of emergency medicine at the hospital’s Icahn School of Medicine. In 2008 he published “Hippocrates’ Shadow, Secrets From the House of Medicine,” about steps doctors can take to repair patient-physician trust. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey.

He was also served as a major in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 2005, he was deployed to Iraq where he received an Army Commendation Medal, according to his author’s note.

Sexual Abuse Allegations

Dr. David Newman allegedly sexually abused four female patients in his care at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

He gave a 29 year old woman the knock out drug Propofol, which left her unconscious then ejaculated sperm onto her.

Newman claimed that he gave her an extra shot of morphine by accident however after the woman was drug tested it was found she was given Propofol.

The woman filed a lawsuit against both Dr. David Newman and The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Three other women from 18 to 21 have accused Newman of groping their breasts during trips to the ER.

Newman is facing several counts of sex abuse relating to incidents with four female patients at The Mount Sinai Hospital between August 2015 and January 2016. The victims ranged in age from 18 to 29.

Newman’s case, which is pending in Manhattan Supreme Court, is next scheduled for July 22.

Petition Supporting Him

A petition called "Voice Your Support for Dr. David Newman" was created online to garner support for Dr. David Newman from the public.

The petition was created on January 22, 2016 in response to the sexual abuse allegations he was facing.

The petition has over 200 signatures and has the goal of reaching 1000 signatures.

It has signatures from people in the United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Peru, and Israel.
