Donovan "Donny" Baynes was a 17-year-old student at Penn Hills High School and was expected to graduate in 2017. He originally hails from outside of Pittsburgh, PA. [0]
Football
Baynes was a standout tight end and defensive end on his high school's football team.
During his senior year, he racked up a total of 36 tackles, averaging 3.6 tackles per game.
[4]He made visits to several colleges that were interested in recruiting him including a recent trip to West Virginia Wesleyan with his mother and his girlfriend. [8]
Personal Life
Baynes had a girlfriend named Alexis Rhone who was also a cheerleader for Penn Hills High School.
Along with his accomplishments on the field, Baynes was known to be a great student in the classroom and had a bright future ahead of him.
He is remembered by his peers for always being there for his friends.
Death
On the evening of January 14th, Baynes was driving with his girlfriend on Rodi Road when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.
He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
His girlfriend is in stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident.
