Education
Diego gained the technical degree in Electronics, Mechanics at the Technical School Conception in the year of 2000. One year later, he went to the National University of Tucumán, where he graduated from in 2006 majoring in Business Management.
Saez-Gil has studied at La Salle BCN for two years since 2007, and pursued his Master's degree in Master's degree in Europe Project Management.
Diego attended Global Entrepreneurship Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2013, and Winter 15 Batch program at Y Combinator in 2015.
Career
I started two companies to bring new ideas into the world, to solve problems I had and to hopefully make the world a bit of a better place. Right now I’m taking a sabbatical and exploring new ideas, says Diego about his career . **
Saez-Gil was one of the co-founders of Bluesmart , where they invented the world’s first smart connected luggage system and brought it to life through a successful crowdfunding campaign. His team took part in Silicon Valley's Y Combinator program and went on to raise capital to scale up its innovation globally. At the end of 2016 Diego stepped down as CEO, and the team continued to grow the Company and launch new innovative travel products.
Prior to that Diego Saez-Gil co-founded WeHostels, the first mobile platform for young travelers to find affordable accommodations on their phones and to connect with fellow travelers. The company was acquired by StudentUniverse (FlightCentre Group) where the team's products became the cornerstone of their mobile platform.
Achievements and Personal Interests
Bluesmart launched its connected suitcase on Indiegogo raising $2.4M in pre-orders. The product was named “Top Innovation of 2014” by Forbes Magazine and “Best Travel Gear of 2014” by FastCompany.
Daniel is obsessed with entrepreneurship and traveling.
