Dean Lorich was an American Surgeon from New York.

Dean was an associate director of the Orthopedic Trauma Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

He earned the position of Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon at the hospital.

Lorich was also a professor at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dean Lorich gained notoriety for performing surgery on U2 frontman Bono after he was in a Bike accident which caused a shoulder Fracture. ^[1]

He also performed surgery on Michael Cox after he broke his leg in November of 2014 during a game in Seattle. He mended Cox's Fibula, but didn't fix one of his damaged ankle bones. ^[1]

There was an email leaked by WikiLeaks from Dean to Christopher Born. In the emails, he complained about the unorganized Haiti crisis response. He was part of a team that had mobilized to help those impacted by the 2010 Haiti earthquake. He also criticized the Clintons saying "the Clintons only portended the difficulties we would have once we arrived." He also said there was "zero security despite promises".

Dean Lorich was discovered dead by his 11-year-old daughter in his Manhattan apartment. ^[1]

The cause of his death was a stab wound to his chest.

The police said the death appeared to be a Suicide.
