David Whiteley (Australian actor)

David Whiteley is an Australian actor and director known for his numerous theatre appearances. [1]

Biography

Whiteley has been a member of the company Red Stitch Actors Theatre since its creation and is the artistic director.

In February 2008 he married the actress Kat Stewart, whom he met while working together at the Red Stitch Actors Theatre in 2002. The couple welcomed their first child, Archie Nicholas Whiteley on January 11, 2012. On March 16, 2016 the couple welcomed their second baby, Georgia Kitty "Gigi" Whiteley.[2]

Career

In 1994, he played a court security officer in the episode "Not on the Merits" of the series Janus. A year later he played a police officer in the episode "Intent to Permanently Deprive".

In 1999, he played "Frankie List" in the episode "Right on Target" of the police series Stingers, later appearing again in the series playing "Jared Armstrong" in the episode "Love's Labours Lost".

In 2001, he played "Barry Burke" in two episodes of the popular Australian series Neighbours. Previous appearances in the series include:

  • Playing the criminal "Nick Gill" in 2000 in episode #1.

  • 3579.7.

  • In 1998 as "Jeff Reiner", an editor of Erinsborough News during episodes #1.3093.

  • In 1997 in episode #1.3105 as "Sven Jorgensen" in episodes #1.2981 - 1.2982.

  • His first appearance in the series was in 1994 where he played "Dr. Jack Chang".

In 2003, Whiteley appeared in the crime series Blue Heelers where he played "Fraser Lee" in the episode "Prince Charming"; previously he had appeared for the first time in the series in 1995 where he played a doctor.

In 2011 he got a role in the movie Killer Elite where he played an MI6 officer.

In 2012 he joined the cast of the Australian series Conspiracy 365 where he played journalist "Rafe Ormond", the father of Callum "Cal" Ormond (Harrison Gilbertson). In the series Whiteley also played "Tom Ormond", Callum's uncle and Rafe's twin brother, until the end of the series that same year.

In 2013 he joined the recurring cast of the series The Doctor Blake Mysteries where he played police sergeant "Bill Hobart".

On May 14, 2014 he appeared as a guest in several episodes of the series Neighbours where he plays "Charles Tanner", Naomi Canning's lover.
