In February 2010, Daniel Weintraub launched HealthyCal.org, a website that combined combined health policy reporting with community stories revolving around health policy legislation.
He created it in an effort to show how decisions made by health policymakers impact the citizens of California.
Weintraub also created "The California Health Report" within the website.
It received its initial funding from the The California Endowment.
