Daniel Nassrallah

Daniel Nassrallah is a Canadian attorney of Arab origin.

Education

Nassrallah completed his B.Soc.Sc. with Honours, Specialization in Criminology, at the University of Ottawa in 2007, graduating with magna cum laude honours. During his undergraduate studies, Nassrallah earned a sizeable entrance scholarship to his program of choice at the University of Ottawa, a position on the Faculty of Social Science Dean’s Honour List, and a lifetime membership to the Golden Key International Honours Society.

During his Masters studies, Nassrallah was employed as a teaching assistant/lecturer and taught numerous undergraduate courses on the topic of crime prevention and social development.

In 2009, Nassrallah chose to pursue a career in law and enrolled at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa.

In recognition of his academic performance in the area of dispute resolution (negotiation, mediation, and advocacy), Nassrallah was offered a position in the Faculty of Law’s exclusive Alternative Dispute Resolution Program in 2010, where he mentored other law students and helped administer the dispute resolution course to first year students.

Nassrallah subsequently earned a position on the University of Ottawa Mediation Moot Team, and competed in an international mediation competition in Chicago, Illinois in 2012, hosted by the InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution.

Nassrallah and his colleagues won third place overall for best individual advocates-clients at the competition, out of one hundred and fifty international competitors, and as a result he earned the World Honours designation in dispute resolution.

Nassrallah obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2012, formally being awarded with a specialization in dispute resolution and earning a position on the Faculty of Law Dean’s Honour List.

Career

Nassrallah was called to the Ontario bar in 2013, and he is also a Notary Public in the Province of Ontario.

He has successfully appeared before the Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice, as well as various administrative tribunals such as the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Abuse of Grandfather

Nassrallah's grandfather, Georges Karam, was the victim of abuse from a caretaker at the Garry J. Armstrong Long-Term Care Home. The caretaker hit Karam repeatedly in the face while changing his diaper. The abuse was caught on videotape and the caretaker was arrested. [2]
