Dan Held, often times spelled Hedl, is an American entrepreneur in the blockchain space known for his expertise in business development. [1] [2] He has been influential in cryptocurrency for always choosing to be paid in Bitcoin, and was major asset in the growth of Blockchain.com. [3]

Held was born and raised in the state of Texas and lived there for most of his life. [1] [2] During his teenage years in high school, he was a star Linebacker. [7]


Held holds a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and Mays Business School in business administration and finance. He was a part of AggieSAT Lab, AggieSAT 2 “Picosatellite”. [7]

During and after college, he was the financial analyst intern at Chapwood Capital Investment Management. His time at the firm allowed to learn more about capital investment and portfolio analysis. [8]

After college, he worked as the VP Asset Management and also as an analyst at Dunhill Partners. [9]

Years later, at Uber, he was the Global Data Lead PPM and also the Head of ASO. [10]


After working as an analyst in finance, he decided to quit his job, and with a friend developed and co-founded Zeroblock, an app that allows for users to see real-time market data and news feed aggregator pertaining to cryptocurrency on both the iOS and Android. [11] [12]

He would also be the Director of Product at Blockchain.com, which became the de-facto search engine for the Bitcoin economy. He would also work as the lead mobile product manager at ChangeTip. [13]
