Dalton R. Davis is a lived in a rural area of Portland, Indiana located near 50 miles south of Fort Wayne, Indiana. His girlfriend was Courtney Llyod who had a infant daughter named Lillian Grace Lloyd. ^[1]

On September 29, 2015 Dalton R. Davis murdered his girlfriend's Courtney's five-week-old daughter Lillian by slamming the child's head in to a concrete sidewalk multiple times. ^[0]

Dalton had an argument with Courtney where he was angry at her for drinking too much.

So he went outside their house and swung Lillian by her legs slamming her head into a sidewalk. He then returned home with the child and placed her back in her cradle. ^[0]

When the Courtney, who had been asleep during the incident, went to check on her daughter she found her unresponsive.

She called 911 and Lillian was pronounced dead at the hospital. ^[0]

An autopsy found the child had died from severe blunt-force trauma and that the five-week-old had a skull fracture and bruising across her chest, back and head.

^[0] Two days later Dalton was arrested and charged with murder.

He was sentenced to 65 years in prison, with no possibility of bail until 55 years.

Davis, who attended court via a video link, showed no remorse for the murder and made no apology to his former girlfriend and her family.
