Cynthia Anyse Scurtis was born on December 28, 1972, to John Scurtis and Evangeline Scurtis in Coconut Groove, Miami, Florida, United States. She was raised alongside her sister and brother in a strict and religious home.
She attended Gulliver Schools which was also attended by individuals like Jeb Bush and O. J. Simpson’s kids. She was a popular person in school especially in the Volleyball team and was also a Cheerlead er.
She attended the ‘Ohio State University’ and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.
She later obtained her master’s degree in the same subject from the ‘Nova Southeastern University.’

She met Rodriguez at a gym in Miami, Florida.
