Colin Warner, born April 10, 1980, was wrongfully convicted of the murder of Mario Hamilton.

2002 Lawsuit

In 2002, Warner, after being exonerated the year before, filed a claim with the New York Court of Claims.

This led to a $2 million dollar settlement.

LaKeith Stanfield will play Warner in the upcoming IFC Films and Amazon Studios nationwide release of "Crown Heights." Co-starring and produced by Nnamdi Asomugha, the script, written by Matt Ruskin, is an adaption of an episode of the NPR podcast, This American Life. [0] [1] [5]
