Claudia Barr

Claudia Barr is a journalist from Memphis, Tennesee. She co-anchored WREG-TV's Channel 3 News for over ten years.

Early Life

Barr attended Booker T. Washington High School, a high school she dreamed attending growing up. Afterwards, she attended Memphis State College (what we now know as the University of Memphis). There, she won the Journalist of the Year award. [1]

Career

Claudia joined the Channel 3 News team in February 2006 as the 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm co-anchor with Richard Ransom.

Barr's documentary on the last three days of Martin Luther King's life earned her an Emmy nomination.

On November 14, 2016 during Channel 3's 10 o'clock hour, Barr announced that she is "going to the house," which is a Tennessee phrase used for when people are going to retire.

Her last on-air appearance will be on November 23.

Personal Life

Claudia Barr is married to former NFL player Robert Woods, who played offensive tackle for the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints. They have no children.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling.

However, she spends most of her spare time at home.

(She identifies herself as a "homebody.")
