Christopher L. Gasper is a sports reporter at WCVB-TV. before now, he was a reporter for The Boston Globe.
Education
Gasper graduated from Boston University, Class of 2001, with a degree in Journalism. He graduated Magna cum laude.[1]
Career
Christopher L. Gasper joined the Globe as a full-time employee at Boston.com in 2001. He has been in the Globe sports department since 2006, and was the beat writer for the New England Patriots from 2006 to 2009, chronicling the only 16-0 perfect regular season in NFL history. He has been a columnist for the Globe since 2009, covering the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup Finals, the National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s Basketball (ball) Final Four, the College Football Playoff, the horse racing Triple Crown, and the 2016 Summer Olympics.[3]
Gasper was the architect of the modified sudden-death overtime format that the NFL adopted in 2010.
In April 2020, Gasper left the Globe to join WCVB-TV as a sports reporter. He said:
"Growing up in Lynn, I read the Globe and watched Ch. 5 religiously.
I never dreamed I would get the opportunity to work for one of these great Boston institutions, never mind both.
I’m beyond excited to be joining WCVB-TV and to take on the challenge of doing television at the best possible place to do it and with the best possible people to work with.”[4]
Gasper starts at the station on April 23, 2020.
He joins a sports team that includes Duke Castiglione, Bob Halloran, and Mike Lynch.

Gasper was named an APSE Top 10 columnist in 2014.
