Christina Bellantoni
Christina Bellantoni is a journalism professor and media center director. She is currently a professor of professional practice at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
Early Life & Education
Christina Bellantoni grew up in San Jose, California. She obtained her Bacehlor's degree and Master's in Journalism from University of California, Berkeley.
Career
Bellantoni's first journalism job was for the San Jose Business Journal in 1998, working in the research department to put together data for the "Book of Lists." Since then, she has spent more than 20 years covering national political and business news in Washington, D.C., and California. She has an experience in covering elections, as well.[1]
She was the former assistant managing editor for politics at the Los Angeles Times and is a former editor-in-chief at Roll Call . She has also held reporting positions with the Washington Times and Talking Points Memo**.
Bellantoni joined the Roll Call team in October 2010.
In January 2012, Bellantoni joined the PBS NewsHour as their Politics Editor. She directed coverage of campaign, White House and congressional news and appears on the program for on-air analysis.[1]
In August 2015, she joined the Los Angeles Times team. She served as their editor-in-chief. While there, she wrote the political newsletter "Essential Politics" and was responsible for covering California politics and policy, as well as Sacramento government. She was with the L.A. Times until July 2018.
Christina currently serves as a professor of professional practice at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and is the director of the Annenberg Media Center (formerly known as the Julie Chen/Leslie Moonves and CBS Media Center).
