Chris Stirewalt is a political editor and commentator based out of Washington, D.C. He is currently the Digital Politics Editor for the Fox News Channel. Stirewalt hails from West Virginia and calls himself a "simple country pundit". Stirewalt is also well known for his previous role as a Political Editor for The Washington Examiner.  
Chris Stirewalt is originally from West Virginia.  He attended Whitfield School a private preparatory school located in Creve Coeur, Missouri, a suburb of Saint Louis, Missouri. In 1993, he graduated from The Linsly School, a private preparatory school located in Wheeling, West Virginia. 
Chris Stirewalt is the digital politics editor for the Fox News Channel and a well known political commentator. Working in FNC’s Washington bureau since 2010, Stirewalt helps coordinate political coverage across Fox platforms, contributing articles, video segments, a widely read Fox newsletter, a weekly podcast with co-host Dana Perino, and regular appearances on some of Fox News' most popular television programs. Stirewalt’s daily newsletter, Fox News Halftime Report , has nearly 200,000 subscribers, and his podcast, I’ll Tell You What, was so successful that it was spun off into a television show of the same name leading up to the 2016 United States presidential election, an industry first.  
Stirewalt is also a public speaker represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau. He speaks about political issues, the current political climate and the latest happenings on Capitol Hill and in the White House. Stirewalt also speaks about the increasing polarization in the United States politics. 
Stirewalt makes daily appearances on multiple Fox network programs, including America’s Newsroom , Outnumbered , Special Report with Bret Baier, and FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace . He is also a part of the Fox News Decision Desk team, where he has called races on election nights in three election cycles, and hosts the feature video series Power Play on FoxNews.com. 
Prior to joining Fox News Channel, Stirewalt served as political editor for The Washington Examiner where he wrote a twice-weekly column and led political coverage for the newspaper. He also served as politics editor at the Charleston Daily Mail and West Virginia Media Holdings. Stirewalt began his career at the Wheeling Intelligencer in West Virginia. 
Chris Stirewalt's first book, Every Man a King: A Short, Colorful History of American Populists is set to be published on September 11, 2018 by Twelve, a publisher within the Hachette Book Group. The book tells the stories of America's populist leaders, from an elderly Andrew Jackson brutally caning his would-be-assassin, to William Jennings Bryan's pre-speech routine that combined equally prodigious quantities of prayer and food, to Ross Perot's military-style campaign that made even volunteers wear badges with stars to show rank.
