Chris Heivly is an author, entrepreneur, and investor.

He is the Co-Founder of MapQuest [1], and Managing Director of the Triangle Start-Up Factory.

Career

Mr. Christopher Heivly, also known as Chris, serves as an Advisor and Venture Partner at Atrium Capital Corporation.[13]Heivly is also employed at LaunchBox Digital.[3] Heivly serves as the Managing Director at The Triangle Startup Factory.[3] [0]He served as an Executive Vice President at Ultimus Inc., since September 2007, where manages all North American operations including sales as well as corporate functions such as global marketing, support, and product management.

Mr. Heivly joined Atrium Capital Corporation in 2001.[13] [14]

Heivly served as Chief Operating Officer at Ultimus[12], where he was an instrumental part of the turn-around team that returned to its prior position in the marketplace.

Heivly was a Founder at MapQuest and served multiple roles including as a Chief Operating Officer, [10]Business Development Executive, and Board Member during its growth in the early 90's.

As an accomplished executive in the information-technology sector, he has proven success and experience throughout his career in such areas as marketing, sales, business development, investment finance, and operations.[11] [9]

Prior to Ultimus, Heivly spent three years with Agular Systems serving as Chief Executive Officer and President.

He also served as the Chairman.

Prior to that, Heivly served as the Founder and President at randmcnally.com and Global New Media Marketing Director at Accenture.

Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President at 77 Capital Corporation.

Heivly served on the Board of Directors of Alphagraphics, MediaTel,and Hands-On-Technology.[15]

In 1999 Mapquest was sold to AOL for $1.1 billion.

Heivly also ran and sold Rand McNally.

Chris has personally invested more the $75 Million of his own capital into up and coming businesses to help them get off the ground, through, The Triangle Start Up Factory.

Which Under his leadership grew to the largest seed investment firm in the SE US.[11] [6]

Education

Heivly received an M.A. from the University of South Carolina and a B.S. from West Chester University.[11] [3] [14]
