Chimoltrufia

María Expropiación Petronila Lascuráin Y Torquemada de Botija, better known by her pseudonym or nickname la Chimoltrufia, is a Fictional Character played by Florinda Meza, inseparable from the cast of the sketches of the show Los Caquitos created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños "Chespirito" (who played "Chómpiras"). He was born on March 18 in Juchipila, Zacatecas. His nickname is due to the contraction of the words "Chimuela (lack of some dental piece, especially the front ones)" and "atrofiada". Her second and third names (Expropiación Petronila) are due to the fact that the date of her birth commemorates the oil expropriation of President Lázaro Cárdenas. Her mother, and mother-in-law of "El Botija", is María Espotaverderona Torquemada y viuda de Lascurain (played by [1] Anabel Gutiérrez).

Personality and description

She is a woman of humble origin, although sometimes her Personality can be rude, sometimes naive and almost absolute lack of knowledge, precisely her ignorance is her characteristic to reach the point of "showing off" which makes her fall into ridicule, although she often gets upset easily when she is offended or deceived, which causes her to attack in a comical way with insults or blows to those who try to take advantage of her; In fact, she tends to resolve arguments with blows, and she is usually known for hitting anyone who offends her, Especially Chompiras, who is the one who hits the most in the series and rarely hits Botija. On two occasions she hit Sergeant Refugio (Rubén Aguirre), to the point that Licenciado (Raúl Chato Padilla) called her a "fierce" woman.[2]

She is the wife of Gordon Botija y Aguado Pompa y Pompa, better known as "El Botija" (Édgar Vivar), who is a friend and Inseparable companion of Chómpiras.[3]

He always wears his hair disheveled and unkempt (according to Chómpiras, it looked like a street sweeper's broom), a brown blouse, with a skirt and colored socks, a cream yellow half apron and white flip flops.

Current he wears a Teen Tops T-shirt made in Medellín Colombia. It is said that he was always missing a tooth (just like the character of the Chilindrina in Chavo del Ocho) but even if they did not say it, it is quite notorious.[4]

She works at the Hotel under Don Lucho (Carlos Pouliot) and at the Hotel Buenavista, under Don Cecilio (Moisés Suárez Aldana), as a waitress, and in the hotel laundry, where her main job often lies.

Her mother, Doña Espotaverderona (Anabel Gutiérrez), is almost her spitting image (especially in her clothes, her way of speaking and her phrases), as she dresses in a colorful sweater, an old brown dress, orange socks and white flip-flops.

Her big dream is to become a professional singer, but the reality is that whoever hears her sing ends up almost deafened by her piercing, high-pitched, but hilarious voice, to the extent that in one episode, Sergeant Refugio's dark circles melted when he heard her voice (especially when she tried to imitate the Argentine Singing Amanda Miguel).

In one episode Botija explains that her father baptized her as María Expropiación Petronila, because she was born on the day of the "expropiación petrolera" (oil expropriation).

In different Occasions she mentions that she is from Juchipila, Zacatecas (place where Florinda Meza is from in real life), she likes very much the Carousels that are a Classic of a Theme Park and the Fairs.

On two occasions La Chimoltrufia was accused of Plagiarism because they believed she had kidnapped a baby.
