Chaniya Morrison-Toomey was a 19-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended Old Forge Junior-Senior High School and moved to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Chaniya works at Styles by Connie in Scranton. ^[0]

Chaniya is an enthusiast of ingesting Marijuana. ^[1]She is is remembered for her down to earth personality and for having a kind heart. ^[3]

After midnight on Tuesday, December 6th, Chaniya and her friend Brooke Hughes were driving on Interstate 380 (Pennsylvania) near Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania when Hughes decided to go on Facebook Live. ^[4]They were driving on a spare tire. ^[3]Chaniya can be heard asking Hughes "are you going live" right before a tractor-trailer bulldozed into their car, killing them both. ^[3]

Michael Jay Parks was driving the tractor-trailer, he has not been charged.

The Facebook Live video has since been removed from Hughes' Facebook and Police are using it as evidence to investigate the incident.
