Carolyn Everson is the Vice president of Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook, where she leads the Global marketing solutions team focused on top strategic accounts and global agencies. In addition, she oversees Media strategy, Advertising Sales, and Account management.
It has been leaked that since 2005, Everson attempted to buy the then fledgling startup from Mark Zuckerberg while she was a manager at MTV. Zuckerberg refused and Facebook went on to later IPO and is as of 2016 worth over $300 billion.
Background
She worked with Microsoft as the Corporate Vice president of Global Ad Sales, a heavily vetted position as it was a newly created in the company. She helped advertise the brand through media properties like Bing and Windows Mobile. She also worked as executive vice president of U.S. ad sales for MTV Networks.
