Candice Smith is an American journalist who works as a reporter and content producer at NBC 12 which is located in Richmond, Virginia in the United States. She anchors at 12 News Today morning show.

She has done coverage for new rides at Kings Dominion, restaurants, concerts, festivals.

Before joining NBC 12 she worked as a reporter at VCU InSight.

Candice is also a social media reporter where she uses Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to show the local reaction to the trending topics. She has done coverage on trending topics from entertainment, sports, politics, and even breaking news.^[1]

Candice was born to both parents in an average-sized family in Virginia and brought up in Roanoke, Virginia. She has two siblings, an elder brother, and a younger sister. Additionally, she is a huge fan of VCU athletics and has served as a grand marshal for the homecoming parade. ^[18]

Candice’s younger sister currently attends VCU, and Candice still goes to basketball games very often.

Immediately after completing high school, Candice joined Virginia Commonwealth University which is based in Richmond, Virginia in 2010. There, she studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2014.

Candice Smith started working on Channel 12 in the year 2013 as News Content Specialist, editor and also worked behind the scenes.

At the same time, she had a part-time retail job and attending VCU as a full-time student.

After around one year, Smith became the full-time 12 About Town (entertainment/feature reporter) and social media reporter.

Furthermore, NBC 12 created the “NBC12 Takeover” where Candice would travel to different high schools to host live pep rallies and highlight staff as well as students around Central Virginia in the United States.

Being a traffic reporter, Candice assists people to avoid accidents and delays and warns them of construction projects in their area.
