Karla Camila Cabello (born March 3, 1997) is a former member of the popular girl group Fifth Harmony.

Camila Cabello is born in Cuba to Alejandro and Sinuhe Cabello. She has a sister named Sofía. Her dad is a Mexican and her mom is a Cuban.

By the time she was 5 years old, Cabello had stayed in Havana and Mexico, before permanently relocating to Miami, Florida. Growing up in Miami, her mother told her that her family does not have enough money to send her to college without a scholarship. As a result, she was constantly studying.

While growing up, she listened to Hispanic artists like Celia Cruz and Alejandro Fernandez.

Growing up, she never sang in front of people.

She would always sneak off into her room when her parents left the house to sing along to karaoke videos on YouTube. If anyone noticed her singing, she would get panic attacks.

Cabello auditioned for The X Factor in North Carolina; she was 15 years old at the time. She first auditioned for the producers' part of the audition and got the call back saying that she'll audition for the judges as an alternative; this meant that if after the show, if they were to have time, she would be able to audition. After her audition, she got a 'yes' from all four judges. After elimination throughout bootcamp, Cabello was called back to the stage along with four additional female contestants to form the girl group that would later become known as Fifth Harmony.

Camila joined Fifth Harmony after competing on The X Factor , the group was made up of her and four other contestants: Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Ally Brooke.

In November 2015, Cabello released a duet with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes titled "I Know What You Did Last Summer". The song has charted at number 20 in the US and 18 in Canada. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. She personally felt more connected with that song than a popular song from Fifth Harmony like "Work from Home" because the song alludes to something that happened to her.

On December 19, 2016, Fifth Harmony publicly announced that Camila was leaving Fifth Harmony.

A band statement on Twitter suggests Camila did not tell her fellow Fifth Harmony members face-to-face, despite them playing a Jingle Ball date in Florida that same day, instead delivering the decision through her management.

Camila, however, came out and said the statement was false and that she had deep conversations with the other band members before her departure.

After leaving Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello decided to sing as a solo artist.

She recalls writing songs in her hotel bathroom while on tour.

She would listen to instrumentals that already existed online - including Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die" - and write new songs over them. She claims it was in these moments where she developed her voice and style as a songwriter.

While beginning to prep her debut album, The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving, she remembers the people with whom she worked came to her with an attitude of giving her ideas. Instead of complying with them, she expressed her point of view more and wanted to work from scratch.

So far, she has released three singles before the album's release: “OMG”“Havana,” and “I Have Questions.”

Her album also features rap ad-libs by Pharrell Williams doing rap ad-libs for her tracks. She tricked him into doing those particular vocals for her. While the two were discussing how cool it would be for Camila to ad-lib, she wanted him to sketch out how it should be done so that she could emulate his voice. In the end, she used his voice on her tracks because Pharrell has what she claims to be a "magical" voice.

Her inaugural solo album is due to be released in September/October 2017.
