Bruce Bozzi Jr.
Bruce Bozzi Jr. is an American restaurant owner and fourth generation of the Bozzi family. He is the executive VP of Palm Restaurant team, who operates The Palm, a famed NYC steakhouse.
He is the fourth-generation descendent of The Palm’s co-founder and the son of co-chairman and co-owner Bruce Bozzi Sr.
Biography
Bruce Bozzi Jr. was born and raised in Manhattan to the Italian-American family known as the Bozzi. He is a fourth-generation restaurant owner of The Palm; he runs it with his father, Bruce Bozzi Sr.
Bruce Bozzi Jr.'s great grandfather, Pio Bozzi, was an immigrant from Parma, Italy. He, along with John Ganzi, started The Palm's very first restaurant . His grandfather, Bruno Bozzi, took over the business in the 1940's.
When he was 16 years old, he started his first job at a clothing store in Amagansett called Dash.
Theatre
As a late teenager, he was a part of a theatre program at the Neighborhood playhouse on 54th between First and Second.
Career
The Palm
At the age of 19, he began his long time career with The Palm while attending the theatre program.
He would bring the checks and answer the phones.
Ever since, he has held and managed every position at the restaurant, from top to bottom.
Bruce directs the company’s marketing, culinary, and human resource teams.
Since it is his family's restaurant group, he has held virtually every management position at Palm locations across the U.S.
Prior to his current position, he served as regional director of operations for The Palm’s 10 locations in the Northeast.
In March 2019, The Palm filed for bankruptcy.
The bankruptcy filing came less than a month after a New York judge entered a final judgement ordering the company to pay nearly $120 million to minority shareholders, who had accused the majority owners of cheating them out of royalties over the past 40 years.[17][18]
Personal Life
Bruce is married to Bryan Lourd, a famed American talent agent. Bryan left his ex-wife, famous actress Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in Star Wars, to adopt a homosexual lifestyle and marry Bruce.
Bruce divides his time between Washington, D.C., his native Manhattan, and Los Angeles.
Daughter
He has a daughter, Ava, via a Surrogate mother. She underwent open-heart surgery two weeks after birth and Bruce went 10 days watching over her.
